The Number Two Problem
We Must Fix -- Becoming Energy
Independent
Flagrant mismanagement of our government has
taken place over a long period of time and it is obvious to
everyone that there is no quick fix. The longer we delay before
starting the reform, the more severe the problems will become.
We must keep in mind that there is, somewhere, a point from
which we cannot return. I do not believe we are there yet, but
it is not far away.
Our present government's solution to
our problems is to "give away" almost 200 billion
dollars to bankers, wealthy stock holders, and the
general public. But I have a much better solution.
My solution does not involve the
government "giving away" our tax money to anyone. For every
dollar we "give away" we devalue our currency by one
dollar.
This method of recovery is absurd,
shortsighted, and self-destructive.
If we have dropped so low that we must use
our tax dollars to bail us out, then we must invest them
wisely. We must get back more than one dollar in return for
every one dollar we invest or we will be moving backward rather
than forward.
We can take a major step toward our economic
recovery and becoming Energy Independent by investing
our funds into our future. With 30 billion dollars,
about the same amount we just gave away to the Bear Sterns
stockholders, we can start construction of the facilities
that will put us on the road to Energy Independence and
all of the investment will be repaid plus a profit. Is
the Bear Sterns stock holders going to repay our
$30 billion gift? As President, I would not
have given Bear Sterns a single dime of the tax payers
money. Let them fail and a better, stronger, and more
qualified company will replace them. This is the way
a free capitalist society works, the only way it will
work.
When I see our politicians spending our money
in this manner, it makes me wonder if some of this money is
diverted back to those who gave it away. (No, they would
never take "pay back" for giving away our hard earned
money; they must have some other reason, but no matter how hard
I look for it, I cannot fine it. I am open to
anything you can come up with.)
My recovery project will
immediately start producing good paying jobs for American
workers. They will quickly multiply as we move into the
construction phase and then the operational phase. All
the money we are now sending overseas to buy oil will stay in
our country and provide jobs for American workers. This will,
within 10 years, provide direct jobs for more
than 6,000,000 Americans, who's spending, down the
line, will provide another 6,000,000 (or more)
jobs.
Becoming "Energy Independent" is important
not only for the energy it will produce, but it is just as
important (maybe even more important) for the jobs it will
produce. (Why is it that I know so many things that
none of our politicians know?)
With oil at $120 a barrel, we will also
decrease our cost of gasoline. And this will reduce the
cost of most everything we purchase, including our food
products. If we do not do this, our friendly oil
suppliers will keep increasing the price. As long as we
have no alternative, they can charge us as much as they
wish.
Also, think about these points.
1. Every day we are sending about 1
billion dollars to foreign oil producers, but after we
complete this project, this money will go back into our own
country and give our economy a huge boost.
2. We could become an oil exporter and bring
some of our money back home.
3. The Muslim terrorists will have to find
some other source of funding to keep fighting us.
The book goes into the details, but I think
you get the idea. I have other important plans to
implement that will provide even more jobs.
How does this compare to the plans offered by
our existing crew of Presidential candidates? Some of
them are telling us that we will eventually get to
Energy Independence by sun light and wind power, but they
either have no idea how little power there is in sun and
wind or they have some other agenda. Solar Power is a
joke, when you need the amount of power we need. But we
do need to get into the business of producing and selling wind
power towers like they are now building, in large
quantities in Germany. This is virtually "free
power," good for many years after the towers are put in place,
but it will replace only a relatively small amount of our oil,
unless you are talking 50 years into the future. (By that
time, I will be departing the Presidential office and
you will have to find someone else.)
When you drive across the Southern coast of
Spain, you can see hundreds, probably more than
a thousand, of these wind turbine towers in the
mountains. This produces a significant percentage of
their electrical power requirements. Fortunately, for
them, they consume only a very small percentage of the power we
consume, but I really respect their futuristic planning and the
way they "follow though" on their plans. I wish our
country would follow their example.
We must go with nuclear power plants, (the
world's safest and most economical source of
energy) coal to gas conversion plants, (cleaner and
safer than today's refineries) and deep well drilling. We
could have and should have done this 20 years ago, but we
idiots (including you and me) kept electing Presidents who
refused to make it a priority. If we had done this 20
years ago we would be "energy independent" today, and breathing
much cleaner air. And clean air is definitely one of my
highest priorities.
Sometimes I wonder if our worlds richest
oil supplying countries (and maybe even Japan and China)
are putting money into the pockets of the "right people"
to prevent us from becoming Energy Independent and also
influence other facets of our government. The "right
people" are the richest and most influential people in our
country, the politicians we elect to office, the Pocos,
and segments of our "so-called" environmental
community.
